Abdurrahman Erol
Abdurrahman Erol is a co-founder and executive board member of ICIL where he lectures a course on human rights law.
Mr. Erol gratuaded from Bahceşehir University Law Faculty with the assistance of the LYS Excellence Scholarship. Between 2015 and 2016 he studied his master’s at Tilburg University on International Law with the special focus on Human Rights Law. On the next September, he will start his research master at Tilburg University. In 2015, he, with his fellow students from Bahçeşehir University participated in ICC Moot Court Competition in The Hague. In summer 2015, he took summer schools in Salzburg and The Hague on international criminal law. In 2015, he was granted with Jean Monnet Fellowship from the Turkish Ministry for EU Affairs He also holds a scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of Education for doctoral studies and after successfully completing his Ph.D. he will start working in Istanbul Medeniyet University as an assistant professor.
His research primarily focuses on human rights law, particularly on the relation between businesses and human rights, international criminal and international humanitarian law.
He has advanced level of Turkish and English, intermediate level of German and Arabic and basic level of Dutch.
