2015-2016 Intensive Summer Program – 22/25 August 2016
ICIL organized an intensive summer program on International Law and Human Rights from the 22nd of August to the 25th of August. Key topics what participants studied included Introduction to Human Rights Law, Introduction to Public International Law, the European System of Human Rights Protection, Sources of International Law, United nations Systems, Human Rights Implementation, the Use of Force in international Law. Cihat Gökdemir gave a speech and laid weight on necessity of international law in Turkey . The Summer school was further buttressed by a Moot Court Competition on ICJ’s Nicaragua v. US Case (1986). The lessons of the summer school were given by the experienced international law trainers Onur Dur, Ferhat Ercümen, Mahmut Sait Arslan, Selman Aksünger, Niyazi Ülkü, Kamil Demir, Talha Şen Mustafa Yavuztürk. At the and of the summer program, social interaction and assessment dinner was held and the group that won the moot court contest was awarded.
