SAIL 2019

SUMMER ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL LAW 2019

Dates: 08-26 July 2019

Istanbul Center of International Law (ICIL), Turkish German University and Turkish Red Crescent is happy to announce the the 3rd Edition of Summer Academies of International Law (SAIL). The Academy is designed for students who are seeking to specialize in in International Law. The program consists of three weeks and each of these weeks devoted to the specific fields of international law namely, Air Law, Space Law, Telecommunication Law and International Humanitarian Law.

ICIL Formation Students, Advanced Bachelor Law Students, Graduate Law Students (Master & Ph.D.) and Practitioners. Students from other disciplines are welcome to apply as long as they demonstrate substantial level of international law in their motivation letter.

08-26 July 2019

– 4 hours lectures per day, 20 hours lecture per week
– Each week total of 4 hours practical exercises
– Social programs (treasure hunt and excursions)

Detailed program will be announced at the later stage.

All the applications should send 1-page-long (450 words max.) motivation letter and updated CV.

Applications will be evaluated on rolling-basis therefore; early application is highly advised to candidates.

All the applicants should furnish a proof of their level of English which will allow them to follow the lectures.

The deadline of the application for any week is 24 June 2019 for those who do not need visa to enter Turkey.

For the applicants who need visa, the deadline is 31 May 2019.

The tuition fee for each week’s course is 200 euros. There is no scholarship for the SAIL as the fees are kept at a reasonable level. However, if you enroll more than one week of the SAIL, you will benefit from reduced fee.

If you enroll for two weeks, the tuition is 350 euros.

If you enroll for three weeks, the tuition is 450 euros.

ICIL öğrencileri ve partner kurumlar için özel bir ücretlendirme yapılmaktadır.

For students from partner institutions and ICIL students, there is special tuition rates.

 

Participants are responsible for their accommodation and transportation arrangements. ICIL crew will advise you for possible accommodation options in case of admission.

For the participants who requires visa, ICIL will issue a support letter after the successful receipt of the payment for tuition fees. It is not possible to issue any kind of documentation before the receipt of the tuition fee. As the visa process would take some time, we highly advice all prospective students to apply to the SAIL as soon as possible.

The participants can cancel their participation to the SAIL until 1 month (June 8) upon the documentation of the valid reason. In this case, only fifty (%50) percentage of the tuition fee will be reimbursed. ICIL has discretion to not to accept the reason. The applicant should bear the banking fees. In the last month, there will be no reimbursement.

In case of visa denial, ICIL will reimburse the tuition fee minus administrative charges. The administrative charges are 75 euros. The applicant should bear the banking fees.

The participants are entitled to the attendance certificate upon %80 participation. The participation to the exercises are mandatory.
